Ornate Mannequin and Stand. This is a wonderful and sturdy early 1920’s dress form. I thought that it was Victorian, but a kind and informed Ebayer (collector and historian) offered his opinion and said that this was used to show clothing or fabric goods. It came from the Collegeville Costumes. It appears to be wooden and covered with 2 different materials. The bottom is linen and the top unknown smooth fabric material. The neck and shoulders were sewn together before it was assembled. The top has a velvet pincushion. The mannequin itself without stand. Excellent and Original Condition: No rips, no holes except for the dressmakers needle pin holes, and needs to be cleaned. 14 shoulder to shoulder. The gold gilted ornate stand itself. There is an approximately 15 cast iron rod that fits in the center of the mannequin. The height of the mannequin is adjusted via a wing knot from front. The 4 raised oval decorations are all complete. Please take notice of the raised horizontal decoration near the bottom of the stand. One side has a small amount of missing decoration (not pictured).
