Up for sale this week is this VINTAGE “WOLF FORMS” SIZE 9 PROFESSIONAL DRESS FORM in very good condition. It is missing the end cap for the left shoulder, which is just an oval piece of brass held on by a wood screw. Otherwise, it’s in PERFECT condition. Wolf Forms started over 100 years ago in NYC on 5th Ave, centered in the famous Garment Center (where THIS one was made) Later it moved to 58th St, and then, in the 1990’s, moved to Englewood, NJ, where they eventually folded. The form has a very clever wheeled base that’s height adjustable for working on hems of long gowns without killing your back OR getting the dress dirty. You step on the pedal, slide the form up to your proper working height and release. To bring the form back down, simply depress the pedal, and the form drops back down to a spring where it started. The body is molded of papier-mâché and covered in canvas, made to easily take tailors and dressmakers pins. Check out the pix.
